Huatulco has an amazing 36 sand beaches with every conceivable description, from medium surfable waves to small ankle-slapper waves. How about a restaurant on the beach? Or how about a great family beach for the kids to safely swim and play? Or are you looking for a more secluded beach to enjoy nature at its best? Whatever you are looking for you will find it here in Huatulco. 

Below you will see that I have gathered the names of the 45 beaches in Santa Maria Huatulco. (There are at least another 10 beaches with no public names.) I have sorted the beach based on the location and a West to East pattern.

This is a longer beach about 300' long. The waves are strong

This beach is about 4500' long and is located at the western edge of Huatulco. There are several restaurants located along the beach where you can get some great food. At this beach the waves are small and the water is clear. This makes for great snorkeling/diving. There are several rocky formations close to the shore allowing for plentiful sea life. 
To access this beach from land you will start on the coastal highway and then travel down several long dirt roads to the smaller village located by the beach. You will end up having to pay for parking if you want to be near the beaches or restaurants. On the plus side, since it is more difficult to access the tourists are fewer making the beach feel even more private. This is one of my favorite beaches.
This is a smaller beach about 1200' long with clear shallow waters. The beach is made up of clean beautiful sand with small waves. This is a great place to snorkel or swim. This beach is accessible by land or boat. If you are planning on walking in. It will be a small hike, but well worth it when you see this immaculate beach. It's located just east of the San Agustin Bay

This is a very small private/secluded beach it is only about 250' long. There is not much sand to enjoy the majority of the open area is composed of crushed coral and small rocks mixed in. The waves are small and there are large rock reef formations on both sides of the small bay.  To access this beach you will have to walk in from a trail that connects Playa Riscalillo and Playa Cacalutilla

This is one of the smaller bays with a very nice sandy beach about 1200' long. There are a couple of restaurants along the beach to purchase food and drinks. The food is incredible and delicious They have the best location to just sit and enjoy the wonders of nature. The waves here are small and the water is clear. There are shallow reefs in several areas near the shore. Making this a fun and very easy location to snorkel and enjoy the marine life. 

This is a beautiful long beach about 1400' with coarse white sands. The waves are smaller but the current feels strong and this beach is most easily accessible by water unless you're into very long drives down bumpy dirt roads. This is one of the two beaches inside Cacaluta Bay it is also part of the Riscalillo Park Huatulco. The other beach is Playa El Arroyo, connected just to the East. There is a nearby Island (Isla Mariana) with several coral reefs. These reefs have lots of rock formations for the local marine life making this a popular dive spot. There is also a small restaurant (Palapa Cacaluta - Seafood) on the beach just a short distance from the shoreline.  There are no images in the gallery.
This is a tiny secluded inlet. The beach area is small with little to no sand and is surrounded by rocks. it is about 400' long as it wraps around the cove. You will have to hike in, to see this private beach cove as there is no direct access.

This is another small sandy beach only about 200' long with very small waves. It is the perfect place to swim or snorkel while enjoying nature. If you wish to visit this beach you will have a very long hike or arrive by boat (the most common way of accessing this beach). Sometimes this beach is called Bandit Beach.

This beach is part of the Huatulco National Park. It is almost a half mile long with medium-sized waves. It is only accessible by boat and is a great location for Scuba Diving and lying on the beach sunbathing.

This is a smaller beach about 800' long with fine white sand. The waves are considered very small due rocky reef nearby and the beach's location. This is a popular location for swimming and snorkeling. The beach is accessible by boat and it is located in the Chachacula Bay

This is a beautiful long beach about 2500' with coarse white sands. The waves are smaller on this side of the Cacaluta Bay. This beach is most easily accessible by water unless you're into very long drives down bumpy dirt roads. This is one of the two beaches inside Cacaluta Bay it is also part of the Riscalillo Park Huatulco. The other beach is Playa Cacaluta, which is connected to the Western side of this beach. There is a nearby Island (Isla Mariana) with several coral reefs. These reefs have lots of rock formations for the local marine life making this a popular dive spot. There is also a small restaurant (Palapa Cacaluta - Seafood) on the beach just a short distance from the other beach.  There are no images in the gallery.

This 1700'+ beach is part of the Huatulco National Park Reserve, it has several restaurants located right on the beach.  It is such a nice experience to eat with your feet in the sand. Although, the staff can be a little aggressive in trying to sell their services. The food is good and the prices are average for a tourist area. I have seen many people bring a sack lunch to picnic on the beach away from the restaurants. This beach has two distinct characteristics. The west side is more exposed to the ocean and tends to have larger waves that can sometimes be strong. On the Eastern side (bay area) the waves are smaller and you can snorkel in this area. This beach tends to get busier as the day goes on. This beach is about a 15-minute drive from the Santa Cruz Bay area. It can also be accessed easily from the water.

This is a medium-sized beach 800' long with, access by boat or there is a dirt trail which can be difficult. The waves are of average height. This beach offers swimming, snorkeling, and Diving. During the busy season, you can sometimes buy sodas and snacks from local vendors stationed nearby. (The name Organo is Spanish for Organ, which comes from the look of a large group of tall cacti on the Western side of the beach.

This smaller beach is about 350' long with clean sand and rock outcropping on one side. It's located between Playa Organo and Playa Entrega inside a protected cove. Making this a great place to swim, snorkel, or lounge around and absorb the rays. This beach is seldom crowded and normally private. It can be accessed on foot from the main road. It is about a 20-minute walk down a dirt trail. The other way to get to this beach would be by boat. Remember there are no services at this beach. You have to be prepared and always pick up after yourself. 

This smaller beach about 800' long located inside Santa Cruz Bay on the West side of the harbor. It is known for its small waves and family-friendly snorkeling. This is a very popular location to view the local sea life. This beach is accessible from land and sea.

There are several restaurants located right on the beach.

This is a small beach located on the western side of the Bahia de Santa Cruz north of Playa La Entrega. this beach is shared with the Huatulco Naval Base. There are no images in the gallery.

This is the main beach in the Santa Cruz Bay. It is about 800' long and has tiny waves only a few inches high. This is a great family beach, you can swim and play in the water and along the shoreline, there are several restaurants and places to rent beach equipment.

 

This is a small little beach in the Santa Cruz Bay. It is located on the East side of the harbor entrance. This beach is used by several hotels/resorts as their Beach Club location. The waves are extremely small.

There are small private boats anchored about 100 feet offshore, so you should be cautious if you are swimming.

This is a very small beach at about 200' it is located in Santa Cruz Bay. It is on the Eastern side and can be accessed by a public dirt trail that leads down to several beaches. 

The waves are small and the water is clear. If you are swimming be careful of the anchored private boats about 100' off shore.

This is a long rocky beach that has several secluded areas of sand and several mini bays. Overall the waves are large and there is a strong current. This is one of the beaches that it is not recommended to swim. Just sit and enjoy the beauty and sounds of the Pacific Ocean. This beach is accessible from a dirt trail that runs along the peninsula between Santa Cruz Bay and Chahue Bay.  There are no images in the gallery.
This is one of the larger beaches about 2000' long. This beach is for advanced swimmers as there can be rip tides and an undertow. Several hotels/resorts use this beach as their Beach Club. you can purchase day passes to use their facilities: swimming pool, beach loungers

This beach is about 400' long and has strong waves. This beach is for advanced swimmers only.

This beach is about 550' long and has some good waves for surfing. It is a great location to explore

This is a medium beach that is about 400' long with moderate waves and is generally uncrowded. It is best accessed by boat, making this a great place to swim.

This beach is about 250' long with medium size waves it is accessed by boat There are no images in the gallery.

This beach is about 300' long with small waves. The waters are on the shallow side and great to splash around in. This beach is near several large condo developments.

This is the main beach in the Tangoluda bay it is about a 1/2 mile long. The waves are medium in height, swimming and other watersports are available for purchase.  Access to this beach from land is normally through Tangoluda Park. on the western side of the beach. There are several hotels/resorts on this beach. They all offer day passes that you can purchase which include access to many of their onsite restaurants and amenities 

This beach is about 800' long and has medium size waves

This is a small beach at about 450' long on the east side of Tangolunda Bay

This beach is about 300' long and is shallow in depth. The waves are very small and calm making this a great beach to swim and snorkel. The access must be purchased from the private Celeste Residencias development. They offer a day pass that includes food and beverage credit. The cost at the time of writing this was 400 pesos per person. There are no images in the gallery.
This beach is about a quarter of a mile long with strong waves. It is for experienced swimmers and is accessible by boat There are no images in the gallery.
This is one of the larger beaches, it's about 1300' long with fine white sand. The waters are shallow and clear for about 50'. There are no images in the gallery.
This beach is the one for you if you are a surfer or just love to watch the action. The Copalita River joins the Pacific Ocean here at this beach. There are also several beachside restaurants. This is also a great spot to watch the sunset and view the stars. There are no images in the gallery.

This private beach is located in one of the many coves. The waves are small and there is a sandy beach about 400' long. To access this beach will be an adventure it is a long way from anything so boat access would be the way to go.
